Theatrical Screenings Available into 2013

SAN FRANCISCO, DEC. 6, 2012 – Dozens of sold-out shows and non-stop interest have prompted Ignatius Press to extend hosted theatrical screenings of RESTLESS HEART: The Confessions of Augustine into the first quarter of 2013.

“We are very gratified by the response to RESTLESS HEART, which we believed would be a wonderful tool for evangelization during the Year of Faith,” said Ignatius President Mark Brumley. “We continue to experience strong interest across the country, so we will make the film available for hosted theatrical screenings into the first quarter of next year.”

“People are responding to RESTLESS HEART in remarkable ways,” added Ignatius Director of Marketing Anthony J. Ryan. “We continue to hear reports of sold-out shows, and have groups adding showings to accommodate the interest in their areas. St. Augustine of Hippo is one of the most beloved saints in all of Christendom, and RESTLESS HEART gives audiences the opportunity to experience his life and conversion through an epic film that is very well-done.”

Those who have hosted theatrical screenings are consistently reporting standing-room-only crowds that leave inspired – often changed – by the film. Its screenplay is based on St. Augustine’s landmark book The Confessions; it tells his life story in his own words!

“The movie was an outstanding performance,” said a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help parish in Edwardsville, Ill. “There were many beautiful and wonderful moments, particularly his conversion. As an opening to the Year of Faith, it was a perfect way to usher in the spirit of our faith.”

Theater owners around the country also are seeing the impact the film is having, and are accommodating large crowds graciously. “The theater folks were most courteous, and upgraded us to a larger venue so everyone had lots of elbow room,” said Msgr. Thomas Sullivan of the Diocese of Worcester, Mass. “It could not have gone better, and people really liked the film.”

To date, more than 100 screening events have occurred – literally from Boston to Boise, and from Houston to Honolulu. Dozens of screenings already are scheduled for 2013. New screenings are added daily, and they will be posted to the “Movie Events” section of the film’s official website,

Dioceses, parishes, apostolates, other groups and organizations, and individuals can host theatrical screenings of RESTLESS HEART. The process is easy, and includes full support and a variety of printed materials for use in promoting and publicizing screenings.

“We encourage anyone who has been contemplating a screening of this amazing film to schedule one,” Ryan said. “The reports we are getting suggest that these movie events draw large crowds and are inspiring people in many different ways. During this Year of Faith, RESTLESS HEART is one of the most effective tools of evangelization available. It offers the highest quality production values available, and memorable performances.
