After an initial meet and greet, Martin Grogan Managing Director, John McBride Installation Manager, Fergal Carrol, James McGuiness and Alan James Installation team with DeWAR Solar Energy Services were invited to a site visit around the facility. Mark Compston explained the quality control checks on all equipment from the Solar Panels to the evacuated tubes manufactured here in Ireland. Mark Compston explained that the panels and tubes are manufactured here in Ireland for the Home Solar Panels market and the commercial solar panel market. The visit included the installation of the evacuated tubes which assembled on a large line, showing the different stages. The absorber plate is coated with a special high efficiency selective coating. It is then inserted into the glass tube. It then carries through a series of processes till it is seal and creates a vacuum of 10 bar. This eliminates any losses in thermal convection and conduction. During the tour the robotic area of the plant, it was clear that quality was a huge factor in the kingspan ThermoMax process. The tour finished up in the training room of the facility for tea and light refreshments. This followed by a training day to advice on the correct installation of a domestic hot water system, the solar energy grants currently available. This accreditation allows DeWAR Solar Services the facility to offer a ten year warranty on all solar energy systems installed throughout Ireland. After the training day Mark Compston presented the DeWAR team with official Kingspan Solar Identification Badges.
