Eduardo Verastegui hosts ‘United for Life’ congress in L.A. on May 23by Martin Barillas Sunday, May 16, 2010
The United for Life congress is a project of Eduardo’s charitable organization Manto de Guadalupe, which sends him around the world to defend human rights and bring aid to people suffering extreme poverty. Manto de Guadalupe builds homes, delivers food and medicine, and provides lifesaving assistance to impoverished pregnant women. Eduardo Verastegui said, “With the funds raised through our United for Life family congress, we will open a medical center in Los Angeles to provide free high-quality care for poor pregnant women, including Latinas. “Our clinic, the Guadalupe Medical Center, will be located among 10 abortion businesses, but the Guadalupe Medical Center will be an oasis of life in the middle of a desert of death,” he said. Eduardo invites Latinas and Latinos of all ages to the United for Life congress. He plans to welcome thousands of Latinos, including singles, families and religious leaders, to this celebration and educational event featuring entertainment, music and inspiring speakers. The lineup of entertainers includes singers Emmanuel and Alexander Acha, Mariachi Sol de Mexico, impersonator Gilberto Gless, and actress Karyme Lozano. Speakers include the vibrant young Australian Nick Vujicic, who was born without limbs, but inspires people throughout the world with his powerful witness to the goodness, dignity and beauty of life. He and Eduardo Verastegui are lead actors in the award-winning short film The Butterfly Circus. Jason Jones, founder of the Human-Rights Education and Relief Organization known as “HERO,” will speak as well. He and Eduardo Verastegui have collaborated on many missions, such as making films about the dignity and beauty of the human person (including Bella). They took the message of hope and redemption to prison inmates in Texas, and delivered lifesaving supplies to the poor in Darfur, Sudan. The threat to innocent lives isn’t limited the poorest nations. So Eduardo Verastegui urges thousands of Latinos to attend his special congress. He said, “I hope you can join us at the United for Life family congress. After all, unity equals strength and strength is the power behind positive change. For a modest donation of $30, you can save a baby from the violence of abortion, you can save a mother from lifelong grief—and you can do it while celebrating at the United for Life congress.” For more information about Eduardo Verastegui’s United for Life congress (Unidos por La Vida) in Los Angeles on May 23, please visit MantodeGuadalupe.org.
