There are many Costa Rica Vacations to choose from and a verity of Packages that often leave the traveler touring in a large tour bus, herded to the next tourist trap with merchants waiting like vultures. Why that may be fine for some, the true adventurer wants far more freedom and culture. The answer to this problem is driving yourself while on vacation. Many are skeptical at first to dive in a foreign country, but the reality is that Costa Rica has great road to most all cities and travel destinations. GPS maps of the country have greatly improved in recent years making it even easier to navigate for newcomers, and most car rental companies offer them as an option. Cell phones can also be rented with ease from most car rental companies making for convenience and peace of mind. From the Caribbean Coast to mountain cloud forests and the beautiful Pacific Ocean, driving in itself often becomes one of the most fun and memorable parts of the Costa Rican journey.
