Oklahoma City, OK—EthnoGraphic Media (EGM) announces that Ocean Avenue Entertainment Inc. will be serving as licensing agent for two of their most popular and powerful films.

Beyond the Gates of Splendor (2004) tells the story of how five missionaries, killed at the hands of the most violent tribe in the world, could capture the attention of a nation. But what would remain untold for half a century is the incredible response to these deaths. That is the story award-winning director Jim Hanon and producer Mart Green bring to life and further explore in their gripping feature film. End of the Spear (2006) provides cinematic journey deep into the Amazon jungle and even deeper into the human condition. These films honestly depict how forgiving those who have taken from you what you most love and how transforming a culture gripped by deceit and murder are both possible.

EGM’s films will be presented by Ocean Avenue’s co-founder and CEO, Chris Bueno. He and his team will seek out prime broadcast licensing opportunities and negotiate distribution agreements. Cable networks under consideration include AMC, USA, HBO, The History Channel, Discovery, National Geographic, and Showtime as well as faith and inspiration networks. Regarding the latter, Ocean Avenue has helped secure distribution for Facing the Giants, Fireproof, and Courageous through Sony Pictures and for Lee Strobel’s The Case for Christ, The Case for Faith, The Case for a Creator, and No Greater Love with LionsGate Entertainment.

Chris Bueno states, “We’re extremely selective about the titles that we will represent. It’s vital to represent titles that we believe will be successful in both the general and the Christian Broadcasting Association (CBA) marketplace. We’ve established a reputation in the entertainment industry as a leader in finding these distinct and noteworthy films.” He continues, “There are only a handful of films that I believe have the distinction of being embraced by both a mainstream and faith-based audience. These EGM titles are definitely at the top of this exclusive list of films.”

EthnoGraphic Media’s president, Bill Oechsler, concurs, “Ocean Avenue has extensive experience and success in distributing movies and television programming that appeal to a faith audience both in as well as outside the traditional Christian markets.” Tom Betts, the film company’s director of strategic partnerships, perhaps sums up the relationship best, “Both of our companies share a commitment to developing, producing, and distributing films that challenge, engage, and inspire.”
